Top 10 best work shoes for flat feet

There is no one-size-fits-all answer to the question of what are the best work shoes for flat feet. However, some general tips that may help include finding shoes that have good arch support, are made from flexible materials, and have a low heel. It is also important to avoid shoes that are too tight or too loose, as both can lead to discomfort and further problems with flat feet. Ultimately, the best way to find shoes that are specifically tailored to the individual’s needs is to go to a podiatrist or other specialist who can assess the condition and recommend appropriate products.

Really good slip resistant shoes. Really comfortable during long shifts. Clean them and keep the leather treated with mink oil if they get wet often. Last pair lasted 9 months before the cushioning wore out. Usually the soles separates but the last pair still look great.

He gave 3 stars for most of the ratings. He says they need Ingersolles for padding.

I like the durability of the shoe over all ,over all comfort too . Would like more support in the arch of the shoe.

I work in the restaurant industry and this is a great and comfortable shoe. It does offer good support as well!

    What People Say:

Let’s be honest, these shoes aren’t cute. If you’re reading this review then you want to know if the comfort is worth the price. I’m picky & my feet are even pickier. But these worked well for me. The height of the back of the shoe was good support for the ankle I manage to twist at least once a year. The grip on the shoes have helped he stop a few falls, which could just be my excellent balance, but they might be helpful if you’re clumsy (which I’m clearly not). Overall, they worked really nicely for me on 10-12 hour shifts working on concrete. I’ve worn them every day for a month & so far I’m impressed. I wish they had more arch support but hey, at least they fit my awkward feet well.

I work in a kitchen, so constantly on my feet for several hours. The support of these shoes is superb and they are very comfortable. They are also slip resistant, so I’m confident walking on wet, slippery floors. I wear a 10-wide, these are true to size. The price and quality are great, so when it’s time to replace these will definitely be my “go to”. I am very happy with these shoes.

Easy to get on, I normally don’t like the stretch slip ons but these are nice. First non slip I’ve owned and they’re awesome. However kitchen people know what really counts is support. There is no heel support or cushion. My feet hurt just as bad as they did wearing my old run down sneakers. Don’t recommend for that reason alone

Super comfortable, accurate sizing, nonslip actually works! I find myself wearing these even on my days off work. They don’t leave my feet feeling sore and achey after 8-10 hours on my feet, and I don’t go skiing every time I step in water. I definitely recommend these to anyone that needs a sturdy(and comfortable!) pair of shoes for work. Especially if you work in the food industry.

    What People Say:

Seen a lot of bad reviews on these crocs because of blisters. I too got a blister for the first week or two and then after that they were a dream. They fit a little big, but stay on my feet when walking. I literally wear them all the time, even at night rather than slippers (until winter) because if i wear anything else, my feet and calves ache. I learned about these when working in pharmacy, standing on my feet all day for 12+ hours straight back in 2010 and always owned a pair ever since. I like that they don’t look like the ugly crocs too. No one knows and when I tell them, they are shocked.
Now I will add that they can make your feet sweat if it’s evenly slightly warm. They used to have holes on the top, but they no longer do that. Not much of a difference tho so I don’t mind and think it’s still worth it.

Croc’s are the best! My favorite are the Kadee but they have been unavailable for so long that I wore my first pair out waiting. Decided on these and I’m not disappointed.

These are perfect for me! I wear 11’s and have bad knee,I can’t bend my leg to put on shoes and I can just slip them on standing.Very comfortable, love them!

Very comfortable very happy with my purchase looking forward to buying other styles

    What People Say:

Took these up to Acadia National park in Maine for a week of hiking, including pavement, trails, ocean water, boating, rock scrabbles, and vertical rock climbing. I loved them. I thought I would try to summarize some key points:

    – They are very lightweight, flexible, and form-fitting. My brother referred to them as ninja shoes. The bottom of the shoe is slightly divided between the big toe and the other toes. This gives you a more flexible toe box area. I would say these are one step away from true toe shoes (or bare shoes, or whatever they are called).

    – Really grippy tread on the bottoms and back of heels. I took these shoes over rocks and up vertical rock faces and boulders. They gripped better than my brother’s expensive salmon hiking boots. Never slipped, or felt like I was unstable. Even on wet and smooth boulders.

    – You can feel the surface you’re walking on. What I mean by that is you can feel the rocks under your feet or the gravel – whatever surface you are walking on, you will feel in detail. Not like a regular sneaker where your foot is completely buffered. I don’t mean this as a negative – nothing hurts your feet or anything like that. You just feel the texture of the surface almost like you are barefoot – but protected. I really liked this.

    – Something you will want to consider before buying these is that they lack the support a regular sneaker does. They ARE comfortable, but if you are someone who really needs that very cushioned bottom or gel inserts these will not be the shoes for you. That being said, I wore these shoes for 8-10 hours straight multiple days in a row across a lot of hard terrains. They didn’t need to be broken in and I didn’t experience any foot or knee pain.

    – When they got wet they took a loooong time to dry – which was surprising. I had to pop them in the drier to be able to use them the next day. The good news is they didn’t shrink.

I hate hiking sneakers, boots, and anything like them. I don’t like wearing clunky sneakers and have always gravitated to running shoes or other lightweight options. These were perfect for what I needed and the level of activity I needed them to endure.

Looking into the barefoot shoe concept after trying everything else to ease foot pain. I have pain on the top pf my foot, so looking and reading reviews about this shoe made it sound promising. The shoe is attractive and has a roomy toe box. The fabric is stretchy and comfortable, but the lace up part is purely decorative unless you have a very narrow foot. For me, it was disappointing that I couldn’t loosen the top of the shoe because it’s all of a piece and doesn’t actually open under the laces. The shoe would be comfortable with bunions or hammertoes though, because of the toe box and stretchy fabric.

They’re so light I don’t feel like I’m wearing shoes and they’re so flexible that there’s no need to break them in. The sole is not thick, so you feel everything you step on but not in flimsy bad way. If you have bunions or wide feet, these shoes are for you. They fit around your foot. And they’re really cute! When I got them, I didn’t wear them the first two days because I didn’t want to get them dirty. They have some dust on them, but I bet I could just toss them in the washer, laces and all.

A very good show. I’m glad I gave them a try. I want a white pair next.

I have wide, flat feet. I’ve played sports all my life, so cleats and tennis shoes have been a staple in my life for twenty years. My biggest problem these days (I’m 24 now) are tendinitis in the knees and ingrown toenails from my toes being squished together for all those years. I’ve had my WITHIN barefoot shoes for a little over a week now and I’ve been wearing them every day. They’re great shoes, but since they’re minimalist (which really is great), I don’t really have any arch support. To combat this issue, I bought some thicker-soled socks with arch support and I genuinely feel like my life has changed. My feet don’t hurt at the end of the day, and my toes don’t need to be cracked every time I take my shoes off.

As for my knees (I’ve had tendinitis since 8th grade), they don’t necessarily hurt, and they haven’t gotten worse since I started wearing my WITHIN shoes, but I do feel a general discomfort. However, I’m just going to assume that my legs are still getting used to the new shoes.

I’ve never posted a review on here before, so I’m hoping I’ll be able to update this if anything changes.

Hope this helped someone out there!!

    What People Say:

For the past few years my boyfriend has been wearing Onitsuka Tigers for daily wear but they don’t last as long as I would like for the price so I was looking for a cheaper option.

My boyfriend was a serious runner for many years. He is a huge nerd when it comes to training, body mechanics, nutrition, supplements- basically anything to do with fitness he’s got strong opinions he can back up with a lot of facts.

I expected that he would find something wrong with these shoes but since they had the Try Before You Buy option, I went ahead and ordered them.

I love these shoes because they look sharp, they’re a great price, and my boyfriend waxes poetic about them.

He has been so happy with these shoes. Every time he wears them he just raves about them. He wears them for running, for going out, and he accidentally wore them to work in a restaurant (which we wouldn’t recommend- naturalist that he is, he now agrees with me that you need a lot of cushion between your foot and concrete floors) but they were even easy to clean! The only other thing he said they are not great for is wet floors but they handle wet asphalt as if the road wasn’t wet at all.

Compared to other very expensive barefoot or zero drop running shoes, he says these are hands down the best he’s tried! We will continue to buy these shoes for as long as they make them.

I can not say enough good about these shoes. The first time I wore them I realized they were the most comfortable shoes I’ve ever worn. I’ve had them for almost 2 years now and own 3 pairs (only so I don’t use up the first too quickly.)
Sometimes I work 4 day long events with 12 to 16 hours a day and never before had I’d found shoes that didn’t cause pain with such long hours. This was the ultimate test for these cross-trainers, I was especially worried since they’re barefoot inspired and much of the gig is on hard surface… The results couldn’t be more conclusive; working 50 hours in 4 days these shoes didn’t cause ANY pain. I even hiked up an entire mountain in Sequoia National Park with them, I couldn’t believe I had no soreness whatsoever the next day!! The verdict is in and I’ve thrown out / given away all my shoes with memory foam & narrow toe boxes.
Also a note; I got Xero shoes as well and would recommend these Whitin’s to start. Xero shoes are full barefoot, and although these are quite barefoot too they’re an easier introduction to begin your barefoot journey, at least that is my experience. These Whitin’s are my primary, go-to pair of shoes.

These are definitely not for running or exercise that is intense. I wouldnt run in these or do an activity like tennis because there is no ankle nor arch support, if thats your thing.

That being said, i use these for weightlifting and theyre great. Theyre light like vibrams, they breath, and theyre pretty wide. Upside is you always have feedback of your surroundings around your feet, downside is that you better pay attention to that feedback – like a 25 plate near you that you forgot about – because you will absolutely smash your feet with weights. Im docking a star because the top material is probably what will wear out forst because its thin. They are suprisingly comfy however especially in the metatarsal area and the heel.

I got the 11 1/2’s – my normal size – but honestly the next pair i buy i think i might be able to get away with half a size down because it feels like they will stretch eventually and conform more to my true size.

Cant speak to the long-term longevity, but i weight lift every other day. These feel like they will last me a year at least, perhaps 2.

This is my first foray into the world of minimalist shoes as an adult, but these shoes remind me of the complete joy I used to feel at age 10 on Saturday mornings walking alongside my dad, fishing pole in hand, loping along silently down a lakeside trail in 100% leather moccassins.

I’m no longer that boy. I’m 52, with flat feet and 40 pounds too heavy. I’ve had two knee surguries, the last of which ended with my doctor saying “It’s not if you need a knee replacement, but when. Tell me when you’re ready.” The inside surface of my right kneecap — the part that rubs against the rest of the joint — was scoped to reveal that it looks like its cartilage, which is supposed to be smooth, looks like it has been through a cheese grater. I wore hard “cookie” orthotics in my shoes as a kid, have bought hefty arch supporting insoles for all my shoes all my life, and work 12 hour days outside on Saturdays in boots that have $400 Good Feet Store hard orthotics in them.

I say all this not to exhaust the reader or make this product review about me, but instead to say that although I was a cross country runner in my early teens, I am clearly no athlete anymore. If minimalist shoes should hurt anyone, they should hurt me.

And some did. I also ordered a couple other brands when I ordered these. They were not comfortable. These are. They fit my feet nicely, and that’s saying something for me. I have narrow feet, but have always worn B to D widths because my feet get extremely hot, so I like the extra air space. The sole padding on these shoes is just enough. The tread is good, even in mud. The flexibility is outstanding. And even though the arch supports are nowhere near as high as the orthotics I am accustomed to wearing, I find that they work fine. I walk three miles a day in these. I hope to lose some weight so I can try jogging in them — something I haven’t done in 20 years.

Another thing I like about these shoes is the attention to detail in making the heel and tongue substantial, unlike other brands I ordered and returned at the same time I was testing these. The heel rises high enough and is cupped enough to prevent my heel from rubbing. This is actually amazing to me, and unprecedented as far as I can remember. My narrow feet and low arches have always caused my shoes to have no purchase on anything to hold them back from rubbing on the heel. As a result, the inside of the heel of every pair of shoes I’ve ever owned has had its inner padding rubbed off within months. That’s not going to happen with these.

Another point of quality in these shoes is the tongue. Other brands I ordered seemed to sacrifice so much to reduce shoe weight that they relegated the tongue to a limp flap of material that would wrinkle every time I laced up the shoe, which translates to rubbing on the instep and also allowing the laces to blow through and rub directly on my sock. Not so with the tongue on these shoes. They have just enough height and padding to prevent wrinkling and rubbing.

I’m surprised to find that after an initial few days when I had to adjust my three-mile walks to the new gait that minimalist shoes promote, my body acclimated nicely. I found myself with muscles growing in my calves, arches, and ankles, and my normal aches from a bad knee and arthritic big toe disappeared.

An unexpected bonus is that these shoes also make great slippers for padding around the house, which I usually do in bare feet in summer but doesn’t work in winter. I normally hate slippers of any kind even in winter because again, my feet get very hot very easily, and I am prone to get sores between my toes when my feet get too hot for too long. Heat isn’t much of a problem in these shoes, though, even in summer, so I’m looking forward to December.

I am astounded, actually, that I could get a pair of shoes this comfortable for the price. Twice before in my life I’ve bought a second identical pair of shoes when I found a pair that I really, really liked. That’s how hard I am to fit. I shop for shoes for weeks, sometimes months, before buying. But I think I’m going to buy a second or maybe even a third pair of these. Your mileage may vary, but for me, they are perfect.

    What People Say:

I have a very fast paced and tiring delivery job, 50+ hrs/week and these are definitely my favorite safety toe work shoes I’ve used. I’m on my third pair and will likely replace them with yet another pair when the time comes. I’ve used a half dozen + different types of “light, safety toe’d” shoes at work and they either only last a couple months, they fit like crap, or a combination of the two. These do a good job at everything they’re supposed to do and don’t fatigue my feet like others. Very light, very protective, very true to fit. Worth the money.

I was tired of wearing these big 20 lbs boots for 10hrs a day at work, then, I came across these… they are beyond perfect for a person who is on his or her feet all day, they do hurt a bit when you walk in them for awhile, but that will fade, overall perfect pair of super light safety toe shoes, highly recommend these to anyone who is searching for a pair of safety toe tennis shoes!

I wear a size 11.5 and do not usually need Wide shoes or boots, but I ordered 11.5 Wide on these. They fit about how I would expect a regular 11.5 would. Next time I will probably order their 11.5 Extra Wide just to make sure that the aluminum toe cap doesn’t rub on my toes. I definitely recommend ordering a size wider than you normally would wear. Other than that issue, I really like these shoes. They are comfortable right out of the box, light weight, and seem to be well constructed.

They’re comfortable and fit well. Most safety toed shoes tend to have smaller toe boxes, but this one fit well and was available in a wide size for my big ol feet. Competitive price.

    What People Say:

After buying and returning four different styles of walking shoes, I found these advertised. They looked pretty clunky and I wasn’t looking for a leather shoe, but the more I read, the more it sounded like exactly the shoe I needed. Sure enough, as soon as I put them on, I knew this was the walking shoe for me. These fit me perfectly. Some of the reviews mention that they’re too big or too heavy, wide in the heel, etc. Not so for me. Luckily, they fit my feet perfectly and I know I’m going to log many miles wearing them. I’m very happy with my purchase, not to mention, the price for these shoes is great.

Looks like a mens shoe. Is very heavy!!! The arch support was perfect, but the shoe is too wide for a narrow foot. If they made in a narrow, would definitely buy. This one is swallowing my whole foot😔

There are times I have that burn of a morning from a very long shift but it isn’t stabbing pain anymore. I bought the cloth one for dress up and out but found this leather one for work. Wipes off well, Great tread! My high arches especially are happy! But the best part is I don’t hobble anymore. Thank you! I have been using the sock to help stretch it out but work was unbearable. I got a spare pare of inserts too! I am wearing in my other shoes until I can get a third pair of these!

I walk on terrazzo floors 10 hours a day, 6 days a week and at 50 years old I need more cushion than I used to. These seem pretty comfortable, just oversized in the heel.

    What People Say:

I have wide feet and low arches, so I like the fit of these shoes (I ordered in wide). This is my second pair. My first pair was in Arctic Ice. I do like that color better, but black is better if you don’t want to worry so much of it looking dirty. My only issue is that it could have more padding. My feet will hurt maybe when I it 9,000 steps.

I like the comfort of these shoes that are easily slipped into. I especially like that I can pull the insoles out to wash. I wash by hand with a small stiff brush and set in the sun to dry to eliminate order.

Best fit and most comfortable shoe. No breaking in!

I wanted to try this shoe but not with the high price tag. When a lower price became available on the purple I thought I would give them a try to wear around the house. They fit wonderfully well. Ordered usual size 9.5 and all fits great. Arch is in a great location and the footbed is removeable. I have a narrow foot and the medium is quit snug across the top of the foot. Someone with a true medium might find it too tight. Color purple isn’t too bright and the sole is purple as well. Great with capris. It really isn’t a winter color. Important note: the bottoms are textured to prevent slippage as this is designed to be more of a “service” shoe. That texture does fine on my harwood and laminate floors but on carpet they grip and several times I have slipped because of this. Be careful on carpeting! All that being said after wearing a few days both shoes developed a noticeable squeak with each and every step. It drives not only me but my two cats crazy. Would have returned had I known this was going to occur. I know some have mentioned this and I have had other Vionics do this in years past but they usually do it when they are totally new. I have worn these ouutside and will be keeping them but detest that squeak.

    What People Say:

I ordered both styles of these Joomra sneakers. I ordered the white ones for $31 and they are great. Very light and comfortable. I just received the black pair with white and black soles, a little bit different style than the white pair, and I love these! They have a padded heel area so no blisters! The tongue area and the part that goes around the bottom of your ankle is soft and flexible – making this shoe extremely comfortable with no chance of it rubbing against your feet and causing blisters. I do not really vigorously work out so I can’t tell you about that. But I can tell you that for every day wear, these are perfect! Buy them!

I really love these shoes! I bought them in a size 9, white. They were very easy to slide on, I love that they don’t have a “tongue” per say. They fit perfectly and are very light. They have nice padding for the heel. Overall very comfortable and I would definitely buy these again in other colors.

Beautiful and well made sneaker. The only reason I returned them was because my toes went to the very tip of the sneaker and I was fearful to try the next size because they may have been too wide.

I have a wider than average foot but this shoe turned out to be the perfect width. I bought a shoe with a removable insole on purpose so I could replace it with my own orthotic and it fits perfectly. Super comfortable and just right for me.

    What People Say:

It is the actual- actual size. I usually order 1 number up for work shoes or tennis shoes but this is the actual size. I will be a little tight but it will adjust through the days.

I’m on my feet a lot, and these shoes are great. I didn’t even have that standard “break-in” time for new shoes.

the shoe is of good quality but the right side is not wide enough as the left

I just wish they made this in a wider shoe.
